Introduction
Patria Mirabal was the oldest of the four sisters. Growing up, Patria wanted to become a nun, but later in life, she changed her nun-like ways. She was the last of the three sisters to join the revolution, which was a bad choice for her, even though she stood up for what she believed. She was killed along with two of her other sisters, Minerva and Maria Teresa. Patria relates to the butterfly lifecycle because she changes from wanting to be a nun, to changing her ways very much by having kids, and getting married.
